Be Careful Who You Attack In Life ... It May Come Full Circle

Over the past few weeks, Shawn Vuong has been e-mailing me with a request to shut-down the blog on account that when he performs a vanity Google search his name pops-up near the top with the South Dakota's Medicine entries. Of course, we have no intention of shutting-down the blog. :>)

My response to Shawn is as follows:

Shawn,

You have said your piece; now live with it. I imagine the reason you would like portions of the blog deleted are out of fear of potential internship and residency Googling. Well, this is a good lesson for you: (1) to mind your comments in the future and (2) not to spout-out the all knowing bullshit that you seem to be known for. Your comments on RNs, NPs and PAs (among many others) are absolutely unacceptable and as more-and-more individuals come across your attitudes, justice will be served. In my now 20+ year medical career (of which I was Harvard, Stanford and Johns Hopkins trained) most of the intelligent, highly trained and patient centered members of the medical staff are/were in the RN ranks. Face the facts, you were admitted into the University of South Dakota SOM and you have an attitude that you are Harvard or Stanford material ... you are not. Medicine and the practice thereof is not learned in medical school, it is not learned in your fellowships, nor internship or residency. Medicine is "learned" with years of dedication and collegiality. Listen to others experiences, there is a lot of knowledge out there and just because "you" could not afford a $250,000 medical degree does not mean that "you" know nothing.

The blog remains!
